This year we are starting the 2nd edition of our Erzgebirge Heavy Metal Days. On June 9th, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on June 10th, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. we will be presenting everything about metal at the “Try it out” trade fair. The history of enamel goes back a long way into the past: the oldest find of enamel work comes from Cyprus and is around 3,500 years old.

Today, the extraordinary material enamel is used in numerous areas: as interior cladding of tunnels, as Back-ventilated curtain facade for modern buildings, in subway stations and train stations, for industrial storage solutions, for the wall cladding of clean rooms in operating rooms, production sites for the chemical industry or microelectronics.

Metal processors for over 180 years

Since 1838, metal has been processed and then enamelled in the Saxon town of Lauter.

Metal processing in the Erzgebirge has a tradition going back over 850 years. Over generations, experiences and skills in metal processing and finishing were passed on, continually refined and ultimately perfected.
